What is GLOBE in the City?
The GLOBE in the City program is part of the local LAUSD franchise of the international GLOBE program based in Washington D.C. Through this franchise, K-12 science teachers and students in the LA area can learn how to best carry out GLOBE protocols, measurements, data entry, and scientific inquiry.What are some of GLOBE in the City's goals?
GLOBE in the City hopes to build and sustain an online community of K-12 science teachers in the Los Angeles area. We aim to refresh, update, and practice GLOBE protocols and learning actvities in designated community field sites throughout the southland. We aim to develop new projects and create meaningful datasets. We aim to establish locally relevant curriculuar connections and integration matrices.What is GLOBE in the City's relationship to GLOBE
The activities of GLOBE in the City, including the web site itself, are intended to compliment the work being done on the international site and make it easier for teachers in the LA area to carry out GLOBE protocols in their own distinct urban setting.
