    Summary
    Quantitative data about land cover provides specified details about a sample site of land cover.

    How to Collect Quantitative Land Cover Sample Site Data
    Students must first follow the first four steps for collecting qualitative land cover sample site data and they can then perform step five, Biometry.

    Biometry
    If the site from the previous protocol is a forest or woodlawn site, students must discover the height, circumference, the dominant and sub-dominant species identification, the crown closure and the ground cover. Students must additionally discover if the site is covered by herbaceous vegetation.

    Silva compass
    Rope
    Marker Flags.

1) Students identify the dominant type of vegetation
in their sample site and record the data.
